So apparently Jeremy Lin has already impressed enough NBA front office brass to be in talks with three teams looking to sign him. Besides the Mavericks, which is the team whose summer league team he plays for now, one of the teams interested appears to be the Lakers.
(UPDATE: LIN signs with Golden State Warriors)
The ESPN article I’m getting this new info from seems to say that the Mavericks are convinced that Lin is a superior point guard to their 2009 draft pick Rodrigue Beaubois. If the Mavs end up being the team that signs him, he will likely play for the Mavs’ D-League team for a year before joining the actual team. The Mavs have a lot of players at point guard though, so I wonder if he might get actual playing time if he signs with another team with less PG depth.
Meanwhile, here is the clip of the 4th quarter matchup between Lin and number one pick Wall. Again it’s just one quarter of a summer league game, but Lin really does seem to thoroughly outplay Wall.
