had to link this match that happened during the 5v5. so the setup is daigo vs arturo. there’s a little bit of history here as arturo beat daigo in a money match a year ago at evo and then lost one at this year’s evo. so this is a little bit like a tiebreaker. here’s the match.
i absolutely love daigo’s expression afterwards. it’s just like, “uh, what are u guys so worked up about?” i do this miracle shit all the time. LOL.
also, watch the match afterwards w/ jwong facing daigo… again. will it end differently this time?
wow, there have been some crazy matches. so gamerbee and jwong meet each other in winner’s bracket when gamerbee had taken out justin’s rufus the night before during the 5v5 exhibition. this is in addition to eliminating jwong from evo this year. justin had to be salty about that one.
so jwong pull out his secret weapon… MAKOTO, the lowest ranked character on the tier charts. and proceeds to put a clinic on gamerbee b/c he apparently has never seen a high level makoto. jwong’s secret weapon is whack ass makoto. amazing.
also, munny got me to realize some may not know what happened exactly on that daigo/arturo match. i actually had to rewatch it a few times to understand it myself. here’s what happened. arturo threw out a fierce punch, which he barely whiffed. daigo then punished the whiff on it’s recovery frames by sticking out a crouching fierce. he realized it connected, and on reaction, he cancelled the normal hit into the cross screen super. beyond not being able to do that move on reaction, i would never have thought that could work b/c of the travel time of the super. when or how daigo imagined this punish would work is beyond me. just amazing.
and gamerbee comes right back in loser’s finals and eliminates jwong after momochi beat him in winner’s finals. man. all international grand finals. US’s greatest hope wasn’t enough. ouch.
gamerbee ends up beating momochi in the grand finals. i think we have a new champion grade player to watch out for now.
here’s an interview w/ gamerbee from before and after his win. this guy is a class act. i mean he actually felt bad for winning b/c momochi didn’t know the matchup. can anyone imagine marn or arturo ever saying something like that in their life?
haha mokoto fight was good. most of these fights are on youtube, the labelling is kind of hard to sort through though.
boxer married a korean actress.
not that that’s not impressive, but does she actually compete?
here’s this year’s winner of evo’s female competition, kayane.
